At Volkswagon we test drove the VW CC 2.0L TSI base model costing a reasonable $28,515 with not a lot of options but good enough for the everyday driver. It was a manu-matic, meaning it had the ability to switch between manual and automatic, which may I say, is quite fun for those straight-aways or curved roads in the mountains.
Personally this car in my opinion gets a 4/5 stars, it is the Audi A7 Sportback but without the pricetag; it rides fantastic, every bump in the road is almost unnoticeable. The 2.0L TSI allows for an enormous amount of options to be added and still keep the price below $40,000 price tag.
After test driving the CC we attempted to drive the Audi A7 Sportback, the exact same car just with an Audi logo and Audi features.
Yet the people in Audi would not speak with us so we moved on to Porsche. However, it seems that a car company that makes an oversized sedan with a 6 cylinder 3.6L engine in it on the base model, which may I say is enormous, and MSRP's at $75,200, would also not speak with us.
So we left.
The next stop was GMC/Buick, which was very unpleasing to the both of us. Personally I like the look of the new Buick Lacrosse, Buick has made a serious step to attempt to break the mold of being an old persons car.
Yet we found it extremely difficult to find the simplest things in this vehicle, so we abandoned this and moved on to the used lot. Where we spotted a gorgeous 2008 Pontiac G8 GT and we knew...THIS HAS TO BE DRIVIN! Shortly before Pontiac was cut from the GM line of cars the put out this simply beautiful yet simple sedan who's bark was just as mean as it's bite. It was an extremely reasonably priced car that looked and sounded great. It came with a 6.0L V8 that sounded amazing, unfortunately GM had tuned down the engine because of how much power they apparently unintentionally gave it.
Personally I love this car in terms of overall value for your money. The Pontiac G8, which no longer exists but I have heard rumors of its return under the Chevrolet Logo, rides very nicely, and sounds even better. This car puts out a whopping 361bhp in a sedan none-the-less. Having sold just under 40,000 of these in the two years it was on the market, for how popular it is, these cars have a very high demand now especially in their small market.
Next stop was BMW, quality German engineering to take me back to my roots. After being distracted by one of my personal favorite cars the 2011 BMW M3 CSL, we moved on to test drive a 2011 BMW 535i xDrive Sedan. A extremely luxurous sedan which pumps out a 3.0L 6 cylinder engine with Twin Turbo Tech. The 535i xDrive kicks out 300bhp and gets 29 mpg. This car looks, rides, and feels good. Very spacious and everything in it just feels right, it looks like it is aimed at not only pleasing the driver but the passengers as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this car, however it is a little pricey, but that is the price you pay for quality German Engineering. It was very comfortable, however I feel I need to wait 53 years until I muster the $52,400 to afford this car, but definitely in my dream garage.
Our last few stops were less than productive, we stopped at Ford to try and drive the Ford Fiesta, a fun little cheap hatchback, yet the Ford dealer was poorly lit and we recieved no service. So we crossed the street to go to Jaguar and test drive the Jaguar XJL.
This car pushes out a Supercharged 5.0L V8 with 470bhp and costs a "reasonable" $90,700. Unfortunately the dealer was closing an unable to let us take it out, another day perhaps.
The last stop was at the Ferrari dealer, obviously they were closed on a weekend day, and doubtful that they would have let us near the car we dreamed to see...the Ferrari 458 Italia. Truly, a masterpiece.
Some day, I WILL OWN ONE!
