Chevrolet Cruze

Now, I know that I have been on a little bit of a "reasonably priced" car kick, but this car is one that I see absolutely EVERYWHERE I go. Not that that is a bad thing. The Chevy Cruze is very pleasing to look at, and the best thing is, its affordable and attractive.

The Chevy Cruze replaced the semi-popular Chevy Cobalt, while the Cobalt looked okay at best, the only possible way to make it an good looking car was to: 1.) buy the coupe instead of the sedan (because the tail lights on the sedan are just plain boring) 2.) add a crap ton of options because the catch to the Cobalt being cheap is that you get absolutely nothing. When I say nothing, I mean nothing. A friend of mine got one for her first car 5 years ago and she told me that she was forced to make a choice between a rear spoiler and power locks and windows. Naturally she chose the rear spoiler as it makes the car look significantly better. But this blog is not about the Chevy Cobalt. It is, however, about its amazing successor, the Chevy Cruze.

Chevy got it right with this one because for starters, it looks fantastic. The Cruze also does not offer the Coupe v.s. Sedan option which its predecessor did. On that note, it has 4 doors! No waiting for the passenger or driver to move the seat forward so you can squeeze out of that 9.5" space. I don't know about you all, but me being 6'5" it's not easy for me to get in, out, or sit in the back of a Chevy Cobalt Coupe.

The front end is great, head lights are edgy, sharp, and defined. They provide a much sharper look that for the most part Chevy has never really provided. All the vehicles (besides the Chevy Sonic and Camaro, I don't count the Volt because it should not exist in my mind) on Chevy's vehicle line, offer cars without such head lights. All are simple and boring.

The rear end is less edgy than the front yet not too weak, it still offers a sense of simplicity. I really don't have much to say about the rear end. It definitely is not fantastic, but it doesn't disappoint.

The interior is simple, yet elegant, but it provides a fine amount of style to the interior of the car. The blue gauges are also something that although minimal, make a world of difference in the way the interior of this vehicle looks. The brushed chrome look of the dash and steering wheel is just the perfect amount to really set it off but not overwhelm you.

All but the LS model of the Chevy Cruze feature a 1.4L Turbocharged Engine with 138bhp. And obviously comes in a 6-Speed Manual or Automatic.

Overall, the Chevy Cruze would be my top choice for a mid-size sedan. Good in every aspect, and best of all affordable. Look at the happy African-American couple above happily leaving the dealership and passing by a Chevy Cruze but not driving one. Just being in its presence is brightening their day.
