2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder

You demanded it, and the good people at Lamborghini listened, and gave you what you asked for. The 2012 Lamborghini Gallard LP550-2 Spyder.

Whats so special about this new Gallardo? What's the difference between this Gallardo Spyder and the original? It's rear-wheel drive, oh yeah, you heard me right.

Turns out, the people who can afford these cars didn't like the level of control the new Lamborghini's provides, meaning they didn't enjoy that the four-wheel drive wouldn't let them go sideways. Much like the previous special rear-wheel drive car Lamborghini gave us (the old LP550-2, or the Balboni) was a hit, although it wasn't a drop top.

Now if you asked anyone who knows me very well you would know that next to trucks, a soft top convertible is at the top of the list of things I dislike. However, this car WITH THE TOP DOWN looks very appealing. The top up, however, ew. I am a sucker for rear-wheel drive cars because of the level of "toy-ability" that it provides. If I want a four-wheel drive vehicle I'll buy an SUV.

The new LP550-2 Spyder has a 45% rear axle locking differential, Lamborghini said that the standard differential put an emphasis on stability while the new LP550-2 will allow for larger 'drift angles'.

It features a 5.2L V10 with 550bhp, and does 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds, and a top speed of 198mph.

Despite being a drop top the 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder proves that it can run with the bulls. Sacrificing a little stability to gain a lot of fun. The lack of four-wheel drive and an 45% rear differential allows the vehicle to slide out a lot easier. Making it that much more fun to drive, although be prepared to go through tires like a mad man.
